CURRENT_TIMESTAMP is part of the ANSI Standard while GETDATE() is a Microsoft implemented date and time function.  Denis Gobo over at shows what happens when you add CURRENT_TIMESTAMP as a default on a column.  Interesting stuff.  The post can be found here.  Thanks for sharing Denis.
